Our Rating:
Actions Made Audible is the debut album by new sonic collaboration Soon that brings together Adi Newton from Clock DVA and Jack Dangers from Meat Beat Manifesto to explore the outer fringes of our minds.

The album opens with Mirages Of Spectres Rising a deep dark ambient sonic adventure with huge bass drops, spectral washes of synths, oscillations, flutters and ghostly apparitions with disembodied sampled vocals intoning dread and foreboding.

Eidolon has an opening vocal sample within tape manipulations, an underlying drum pattern emerges from the tone shifts and dialectic syncretic shifts mauling at your mind, is the Eidolon attacking your very core, ripping you apart, leaving you falling into the ambient miasma.

Pharmacopeia Of Consciousness leads into the noises and speeds that alter the brains chemistry, wave frequencies and tonal shifts open vistas not tapped into without the help of the correct dosage of the right Mushrooms, the trip is described in Huxleyan detail, screeds of sound twist your mind into new kaleidoscopes of meaning. Dripping sounds lead through halls of mystery, worlds opening before the radio static shuts it down.

The Other Self builds from a speaker shaking bass tone, with the vocal sample of mental experimentation, dynamics sorted into intellectual pigeonholes created within this bass tone, opening your mind to the beauty of Binary taking over, can you find The Other self within you, or will it be forever without you, trying to break out of binary coded LSD trips. The central message of finding ways to open your mind comes through this long carefully spoken piece they have built this sonic world around.

The album closes with Seriatim a Krautrock dancefloor experimental wash of pulses rising through your brain, opening the cortex, splitting your serotonin receptors, allowing you to accept this music's power to open and rearrange your way of thinking, classical spaces within altered manipulated sound spaces.
