Our Rating:
Blowmania is the third album by Naarm/Melbourne based Garage rockers Blowers who are Kit Convict, Shannon Cannon, Shannon Aswell and Andrew Porter, the album was engineered and mixed by Julian Cue and mastered by Mikey Young.

The album introduces itself telling us Blowers blow before they crash into Wasted On My Own a raging slab of garage rock angst for someone getting totally trashed at home, alone with the loudest garage rock they can find for company, they list all the drugs they have necked, snorted, drank or shot up, it sounds like they are totally freaking and peaking, somehow they have let someone in to sing backing vocals while spectating on all the debauchery.

Tony's In Hospital Again was and still is thankfully inaccurate for my friends called Tony, but this has the edge of inevitability for the Tony they sing about, he goes over the edge once more, anther OD catastrophe waiting to happen, if only he knew when to slow down or stop, but well the party never ends for Tony.

Cigs, Beer And Wine are what Blowers have for tea, all they ever want to do is smoke more cigs chug more beers and try to look sophisticated with a bottle of wine in their hands, they've blown another paycheck on all three again.

I Hate You All The Time is an adrenal blast of hatred to anyone who tries to get them to calm down and sober up, how very dare you, they hate you for the very suggestion.

Nightmares for this lot include running out of VB's and also someone who haunts everything they do, it might be their sober alter ego, if such a thing could exist in this world as the organ crashes through everything.

Fried Again they have really got some good stuff this time and are out of their minds, somehow managing neat harmony backing vocals along with the pummelled drums and amphetamine fuelled guitars, this is totally jacked up.

Civic Duty is raging against some officious prick who won't let them party till the end of time, a real self-entitled party pooping dick who needs destroying with heavy riffs, while they try to blow shit up again.

Teeth is all about telling someone they want to kick there fucking Teeth in and is full of bile and rage for all the crap this piece of trash did to them, while the mosh pit goes insane to this.

Chances is one thing this lot deserve to have, if they are half as good live as this record suggests, even though they claim they are out of Chances and hope, here's hoping this record blows up and gives them a real chance.

Mushrooms are on their minds, they want to take a bunch and freak out, hopefully not as freakily as that time I came up on Shrooms half hour before Metallica came on and I lost the plot just a bit, they are slipping away from reality at a frantic pace.

The album close with Everyone In The Room Hates Me mainly because they have behaved like the deranged junkies they sing about, they are messy, up to no good and likely to run off with your boyfriend and girlfriend in search of an old 60's organ sound, while telling everyone to get the fuck outta here, this album is like a prime time shot in the arm.
