Our Rating:
Your Way is the debut ep by Seattle based South American act Flur who are the project of Mateo Leguizamon, AKA Matt Leggo a Colombian immigrant, the band started as a solo project, but Matt has since added Marty Aman, Jason MacDuff and Jon Beatima to the line-up.

The EP opens with Broken Poem a slow NU soul song for a meeting of two future lovers, one of whom is smitten by the lady's poetry, while trying to bust out his best Blow Monkeys moves, along with some soaring guitar chops and he's sure you'll be his, no matter how much you ignore him.

Amor Y Otras Drogas a heavy psyche metal tale of addiction and all that it can do to tear your life apart, at least that's what my poor Spanish skills make of the lyrics, it has a peaking guitar solo before the crash into the mire.

Amargura has a funky late night guitar break intro and a very South American rock feel to this loping ballad, with subtle keys and an almost Brazilian pop feel in places.

Life Changing is epic metal stylings with double tracked vocals, almost choral in places telling us to ride the waves of Life Changes no matter where you may end up on life's journey. Things get darker and deeper while you seek to find a way to a better life, through emigrating to a safer place.

The Ep closes with Your Way with crunchy guitars and a singer begging that he wants it, in all the ways it is possible to get it, the soulful edge in the vocals are far softer than the music, the riff rams home the message don't stop, go on keep in fighting for what's yours.
