Our Rating:
Early recordings 94-95 collects Kriedler's first two releases the cassette Riva and the 1995 untitled album that is often known as Sport. Riva was recorded in a dis-used bakery on Stefan's 4 track recorder and the untitled LP was recorded with Matthias Arfmann in Hamburg, Kreidler are Stefan Schneider, Thomas Klein, Detlef Weinrich and Andreas Reihse.

The album opens with the sparse drum pattern of Beginn/Drucken that has a minimal keyboard line with stray guitar flicks adding to the ambient chilled vibe, when the tune shifts more sinuous bassline takes centre stage with minimal adornment keeping things well chilled.

Cafe Dello Sport is a bongos and bass tune of subtle sophistication, hinting at noir activities. Glasshute Gerresheim keeps the chilled vibes and adds swirls of sound. Charles Wilp Photografiert Muhammed Ali has steel pan percussion with the groove laden bass and hi-hat floating like a butterfly ready to deliver a musical sting, this is the first truly danceable tune.

Flames has Gamelan style percussive energy, with a minimal groove licking away at you. Tierfilm would be a dark nasty late-night soundtrack with scattergun percussive feel and laconic elastic bass and synths that go in and out of time. Das Wilde Heinfeld is slow ambient dance tune with a slow sax scrawl.

Angst is the first song from the untitled album with female vocals, this has the feeling of a narration over a decaying kitchen sink drama. Die Sexy Antwort Auf beige is a slightly beige chill out club tune to seamlessly merge with the background to.

Anit-Car is atmospheric ambient dance tune with a rumbling bassline and a floaty feel. Soft Niveau a perfect grand prix sound bed to talk about the latest practise times over, repetitive beats and soft shoe shuffling sounds. Boccia could be the soundtrack to an Italian stud movie, the hero moves through a town throwing macho glances at all the women he sees, lolloping beats following his casual seductions.

Sportflache breaking news from behind a wall of ambient weirdness, Gerd Muller has destroyed his opponents once more. Bikini has them stalking Dusseldorf's Swimming pools in search of the perfect design for the next German Olympic swimming bikini, no performance enhancing drugs included sadly. The album closes with Im Betrieb IV that is the cool base for a much bigger dance tune to be built over this feels like an exploratory sketch minimally evocative and very peaceful.
