Our Rating:
Beauty Within You is the third album by London based Psychedelic folk singer Pete Kosanovich who was originally from Serbia, he recorded the album in London and plays all the instruments and produced and mixed the album himself.

The album opens with Three O'clock In The Morning and your hanging out by the railroad tracks, obviously up to no good, trying to dodge the cops and stay out of jail, over slow plaintive acoustic guitar accentuating this murder ballad, despite the dark subject matter it's suffused with beauty, helping us work out if he'll escape or be brought to justice.

Mirror Mirror what do you see, are you always left on the wall, or used for other nefarious purposes, slow thoughtful piano weaves through this tale of love and longing. Fade Away you've gone too soon, a best friend you can no longer count on, carefully picked guitar leads us through the memories of your passing 10 years ago, how far we've come since and your presence in his life, still there even if it has faded away from its previous central position.

Dreams You Had Yesterday should remain relevant today, like they were back then, never stop hoping your dreams will become reality, almost baroque guitar and bass lead you to the bottom of the sea and back towards the light once more. In My Life you will go through all sorts of trouble and sorrow to get to a decent equilibrium while re-working Nikki Sudden tunes comfortably, they still sound like Pete's own songs.

Beauty Within You the title song is carefully picked moments in love, no matter how hidden they might be, love shines through your eyes. It's Worth Noting just how much he loves and wants you, despite the fact you've left him, grief and sorrow he wishes he could ease so simply, while he sings this song for you.

Never Look Back (In Sorrow) is obviously far easier said than done, this has sparse guitar and dark moments of pain and sorrow, all the while Pete tells you it's ok if you move on, never feel sorrow for the loves you've had and lost and may never regain.

When I See An Outlaw has an early 70's Bob Frank feel, while Pete dips into his conflicted feelings for the pain he feels for his home country and the war that tore it apart, hoping to see the outlaws being dragged from their homes to pay for the crimes they committed.

The Bottom Line is not about the legendary club or it's salubrious short lived London branch, but more dark feelings from the other side of the split, hoping to find solace in memories from the good times, will you get back to those days, when happiness was all around, instead of the never ending sadness you currently feel.

Light Of The Morning is the sparse hopes for one night's reconciliation, he promises he'll leave in the morning, while trying to drag some of your demons with him. You will always be on his mind.

Back In The Game he thinks he has one chance more, strolling troubadour style through the early spring light, depression has gone, hope springs eternal that a new love can be found, on the other side of the harmonica solo, helping Pete to create a positive mindset once more.

Stay Out Of The Wind he hopes you'll find another love around the corner, he's moving on down the road, you should just get out there and see what the road will bring you. Sunrise By The Sea has the prettiest shimmering acoustic guitar for that meeting of minds and souls sitting watching that sunrise reflect, back through past romances and assignations so special they feel like once in a lifetime events.

The album closes with Children Of War (Studio Bonus Track) that has multiple tambourines shaking you through all the post war trauma that never leaves your side, no matter how you've grown up, you will never shake the despair of what your parents went through and what you saw at an age when such things should never have been imagined let alone seen.
