Review: 'Dean Spunt'
'OCCII Dokie'

-  Label: 'Drag City Records'
-  Genre: 'Industrial' -  Release Date: '14.11.25.'-  Catalogue No: 'DC979'

Our Rating:
OCCII Dokie is the name of the club in Amsterdam that his live set was recorded at, during Dean Spunt's 2024 European tour. Where the No Age mainman manipulated E-MU modular synths to warp Dutch minds.
The ep opens with Shallow Flathead that takes a piano sample, adds backwards weird noises, glugging underwater feel, to ambient electronica evocation of Dean's favourite circuit bending screwdriver.

Boom Times At The Phatt Farm has squelchy bending bass notes, plinky keyboards and odd scratching sounds grooving along for you to shake that thing down at the Phatt Farm.

Confusion Is Sysex wobbles and swirls, minimalist glitchy manipulations bent circuitry, tuned interference dials rotating weirdly. Find Me In The Forums listening to crackly vinyl, one odd note at a time, slow core manifestations, odd bleeps individually played strings, trolling to your hearts content on old school 90's pre social media forums, where reviews could get a good 10 readers with a bit of luck.

The ep ends with MP7 In Heaven insistent nagging synth riff, could that be someone playing a coat hanger, modularity bubbling in basic, distilling dreams in new realities.
