This album features Derek Jarman narrating his only work of narrative fiction, The journey begins in Fargo taking us on a deep journey with no destination and Derek's plummy burr, drawing listeners into his drug fuelled visions, Through The Billboard Promised Land Without Ever Stopping was written in 1971, This is the first time this piece has been available on Vinyl, having originally been released on cassette, this edition comes with facsimiles on Derek's original handwritten piece.
They gaze beyond the horizon at that deep blue sky. The go down the super highway gawping at the neon signs lining the road, some of the signs have screens attached showing movies, this is a surreal futurism, for a world that is led into darkness, so we can all keep staring at those screens. Weird picnics full of marron glaces and other delights eaten by King Amethyst and his Valet John. They are entertained by a Pierrot while eating strawberries that send them to sleep.
Once the rains come they sail into calm waters, the cold north greets them and the fireworks suddenly go off, while all sorts of things happen, that many or may not be hallucinations, that lead them to discover tomorrow has been cancelled, the journey continues by 1000 waterfalls, weird volcanoes and a carp park that takes an hour to drive through. A voice emerges claiming I Am Topaz who leads them to a white cat, who acts as spirit guide, through the clouds of The Billboard Promised Land finding the tigers of wrath.
The phantom projectionist leads them into a building that is both amazing and a maze, where they are served black coffee and acid that blows their minds and their navels, while watching legendary drag acts from Hong Kong and other acid visions of socialites and mars bars, dream machines singing the anthem. Soon they are dancing the St Vitus, in thrall to the empress and her maids of honour, despite her bursts of anger and weird behaviour, then her maid Miss Century Fox's life is explored in all its sordid glory, they approach movie town with all its twinkling lights, they get to meet Miss Century Fox and get a mention in Hemline magazine. A feast of the sweetest of confections, they resume dancing at the debutante's ball, Cinders glass slippers have not yet been claimed, not even by Cleopatra or Charlemagne they dream of a new Jerusalem. Evanescent finds baffle the archaeology in this city of discs, plundered by tourists. Now the town is silent, make sure you discover the treasures of the past.

Disc is just off the Super Highway, the town is ahead of the game, with 24 hour filming and monitoring of everything that happens, in the ancient water ways and remains of Aqueducts made from rock crystal, shimmering in the distance, before you descend to the restaurant at the gates of Disc, only entered through a labyrinth of snakes and dragons guarding the city, making entry a precarious business, leading to a lake you have to swim across, leaving your clothes behind, bringing light into your body, creating golden shadows they plunge deeper on, kicking sand ahead through the sulphur pools, the vernal equinox approaches before they leave Disc, to a land of scarlet Bougainvillea and palm trees, golden dragons float, the valet kisses his master, taking him deep into the vortex of whatever fuels Derek's Visions.
The road is littered with broken statues, like the earthquake destroyed everything, until they find a marble stadium intact, to watch a game of tennis, a wedding party with a black rhinoceros and golden eyes, seeing a boy glistening above the water, beyond a sphinx cuts a wedding cake of ice, the groom is dressed in rubies, waves crash all around, pyramids collapse. The men in Penguin suits are with Pharoah by the seashore in this oasis, John and Amethyst sleep, dreaming on into another labyrinth, until the old lady announces there return to the comfortable villa, before they disappear into the past or the distance, bringing this flight of fancy to its end with whatever induced these visions in Derek.
