Review: 'The Statics'
'Gotta New Record'

-  Label: 'Chaputa!'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '24.4.26.'-  Catalogue No: 'CHR7061'

Our Rating:
Gotta new record is the first new single in 29 years from the Pacific Northwest garage rockers The Statics, recorded at No Count studios in Seattle by Evan Foster. The B-side is a long-lost tune recorded at The Vinyl Manor Studios as part of the Rat City sessions in 1994. The Statics are Liam Gardner, Daragh O'Connell and Jacqueline Campion.

The A-side Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat is a classic Bo Diddley beat garage rock rave up, where we find out, all the ways that Jungle Cat is homicidal, with the guitars doing all the right Diddleyesque twists and turns around that classic riff, this would sound great on any garage rock comps or radio shows.

The B-side Kinds Of Women is a cool stomp, with gang style vocals, over that pulsating beat, fried at the edges guitar, that has shards of Bo pouring out, on this long lost demo from the end of the last millennium.
