Cheeky. Very cheeky indeed.
No, it's not the verse or the song's premise, which is a typical ALABAMA 3-style electro-blues glide and the sorta thing the Brixton desperadoes could do in their sleep/ narcotic reverie (delete as applicable).
No, it's the chorus, which - with permission - basically transplants the killer, anthemic chorus from Dublin hombres ASLAN'S flag-waving favourite "Crazy World": a song that remains a radio staple well over a decade on from its' original release. And d'you know what? The bloody thing fits like a glove.
OK, in this spliced form, it's probably not as good as the original "Crazy World", but after THAT theme tune ("The Sopranos", dummy), Alabama 3 needed another classic anthem to remind the world at large they're still out there, and this is as good a contender as they're gonna get from recent so-so album "Outlaw." Besides, bearing in mind the parallels in their story (heroin, hard-living, lengthy 'outsider' status) it seems a smart move for Alabama 3 and Aslan to get, ah, down and out in Brixton and Dublin together, if you get m'drift.

So quite possibly a veritable hit. Watching both bands scare small children on daytime TV could well be fun in the weeks to come.
