Released to coincide with their recent lap-of-honour singles collection "Their Law", this double-A-side single presents inspired remixes of two of THE PRODIGY'S key tracks and proves that it's still worth getting caught in the odd squall of sonic reshuffling now and again.
The already noxious "Voodoo People" now seethes past us like a particularly pissed-off plague of locusts and is faster, rockier and even more intense if that's at all possible. The drums are live(ish), the guitars coiled and snarling and the end results should satisfy large gatherings in fields for many years to come. Exhilarating, in a word.
Pound for pound, though, AUDIO BULLYS' remix of "Out Of Space" matches it. It's glitchy and analogous for a brief 30 seconds, then a snatch of the fried skank of the original drifts past in orbit from somewhere beyond Pluto before things REALLY get warped and weird with a mish-mash of rap, big beats and old-skool electro all vying for attention. The key lyric line ("I'll take your brain to another dimsension") is indeed no understatement.

OK, the order of things suggests that Liam, Keith and co may never return with anything as seismic as the likes of these tracks (and of course the notorious "Firestarter") in the future, but this is still a seethingly creative adjunct to the Singles collection and once again reminds you that - just because it may be snoozing in the afternoon sun - you should never disturb a rattlesnake unless you're prepared to take the consequences. HissSSSSS!!
