Review: 'BARTA, ADAM'
'Dirty Girls'

-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '2005'

Our Rating:
"I get so hot when they're around," exclaims Adam Barta (http://www.adambarta.com) in the title track of his CD single, "Dirty Girls." Yes, sometimes you just have to put your critic's hat onto the shelf and merely sit back, give in to a couple minutes of bubbly political incorrectness.

If Barta was Prince, "Dirty Girls" would've been seen as his latest erotic number, but I doubt Barta is going to get a similar free pass from other reviewers.

"Dirty Girls" is essentially a series of PG-13 one-liners set to a moving R&B groove. It's quite danceable, and I can easily see it becoming a smash in Miami clubs. Barta sounds like a black man, which probably originates from his influences.

His website mentions collaborations with Brad Vander Ark of the Verve Pipe, but do not expect to hear any alternative rock here. This is straightforward pop that is a blast to hear in the car with the top down and - let's be honest - tops off.
