Our Rating:
Preeta grew up in Hawaii and lives in Los Angeles. She's pushing away at getting a music biz career going with a good singing voices and a fluent MOR songwriting style. This is a typically well-produced US album of unexceptional and indistinguishable songs.

There's a dreamy individualism here – totally at odds with anything collective, combative, political or culturally significant It’s the glutinous world of Friends and celebrity blandness. There are the slightest of airhead r&b stylings in songs like "On My Own Again". Tunes are of the speech-inflected variety – up and down with over-emotional vacuity but without leaving a shape hat anyone else could sing later. These are the kinds of tunes that no one cold be sued for stealing.

I know people who would own CDs like this, probably. They are people who buy greetings cards in Clintons, who draw circles over the letter i and have a set of glitter pens. The songs all want us to love each other and be free and non-judgemental and so on. The lyrics are entirely free of anything specific like a viewpoint, a personality or a tangible situation.

The production by Brian Reeves is flawless, using lots more than the acoustic guitar on the cover. If you suspect that, despite your reviewer's snobbish disapproval, that this unaffected naivety is your kind of thing, the website offers the chance to check for yourself.
