Review: 'CUT COPY'
'GOING NOWHERE'

-  Label: 'MODULAR (www.cutcopy.net)'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'March 2006'-  Catalogue No: 'LC01846'

Our Rating:
Yawn, Yawn, and triple Yawn. It's another elecronic(ish) indie disco number churned out in order to perpetuate the flagging genre of sharp-edged post-punk noise we’ve been overfed on for the past couple of years.

That in itself could be forgiven – we’re not being muso-fascists by dictating that all eletro-pop is awful. But these songs are dull dull dull, dragging along with a profound lack of personality and originality.

And yes folks, like most songs in this tired genre, CUT COPY are harping on about how rubbish their relationships are.“You’re just so busy seeing red when I all I see is blue” – well frankly if that’s the way you feel, just decide which colour pill you’re going to take and get on with it. Either dump the woman, or stop sitting in your bedroom moaning about it and buy the wench some flowers or something. I’m not a bleeding agony aunt.

“Going Nowhere”? Yep, I can see that.
