Our Rating:

Grinding techno sounds and sampled handclapping kick off this runaway train of a record, which inspires warped disco moves and selfless abandon as it throws itself wildly out of shape. This is TEMPOSHARK’S third limited edition single release from a series of three, and it closes things with a bang, rather than a whimper.
I love the way that this slips effortlessly into its groove, and stays there until you have lost all sense of time, and forgotten yourself. Very addictive and with a depth charge pulsating all the way to the centre of the earth and back, this track emits 80’s elitism, as does the superb second offering

Backed with (“perfectionist”) ‘Paris’, this is one hell of a double header. ‘Nothing is more serious than pleasure’ is the refrain, and this seemingly conventional ditty strings you along for many a bar before it distorts, breaks down and then disappears in a totally blinding, scalding cauldron of fragmented dance beats. Once the vocals become all shouted and mispronounced French, straight off Brighton beach, then that is you well hooked, sucked in. Manic, but beautiful in all of it’s coldness, it will have you bouncing off walls and taking the laces out of your trainers, whilst behind you somewhere, Gothic Hedonism rears itself ready for the preen.

I remember a time when dancing to this would get you put away. The Princess Julia remix of ‘Paris ‘is darker, thumping, and heavier on percussion sounds. More of a pure dance record, in terms of the sexy hard house context, it keeps its head down before sweat drips off the walls. Oh, you’ll take a couple of listens, but then you’ll be in their grip, and gripped you will be. Funny, serious, and relentless, this is as addictive a record as I’ve heard from the darker side of trance. Excellent!
