Ok…this is not really my thing but I will recognize the quality of musicianship that is evident on this album. I cringed a little when Chuck sings “jah” on his cover of Bob Marley’s “Turn Your Lights Down Low” and took note of his Van Morrison-ish twang on one of the tracks.
Chuck Perrin has been going since 1970 and has played in countless coffee house collectives and recording sessions in the states (there’s a nice photo of Chuck playing with Mickey Dolenz on his website). He is a seasoned player and his music will definitely give pleasure to those of you who like slow, acoustic folk/soul based music. Your mum will like this.
