Review: 'DRESDEN DOLLS'
'BACKSTABBER'

-  Label: 'ROADRUNNER (www.roadrunnerrecords.co.uk)'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '4th September 2006'-  Catalogue No: 'RR3933 0'

Our Rating:
Amanda Palmer has got a piano and she’s gonna use it and use it she does. This piano and drums (the excellent Brian Viglioine) outfit are a little bit like The White Stripes in as much they are rock primitives pairing down to their duosome underpants.

No guitars…no problem. It works, shaking Ben Folds Five out of a coma and slapping Billy Joel in the face. It’s all very dramarama and glam theatre cabaret (my review copy of the single included a song called “Lonesome Organist Rapes Page Turner”)
I imagine if Tori Amos met Shakespeare’s Sister and found a willing sperm (or a deformed egg with a tail) The Dresden Dolls would be that grown up beast. This tight and talented two will be bouncing around the circular walls of The Roundhouse in November.
