Our Rating:
Matthew Adam Hart (AKA The Russian Futurists) has reissued the finestmoments from his first three albums.

This collection of Brian Wilsonish and Phil Spector-y electronic pop gems is an entertaining and lovely listen. The first three tracks storm in to grab you confirming that this engaging brew is worthy of praise and play. The Pet Shop Boys and New Order are raided for melodies and arrangements while still managing to sound new and diverting. Phat skip-along beats, vocal harmonies, samples, synths and strings are all wrapped up with a gleeful and obsessive energy.

“I used to sit up at night and drink a bottle of red wine and listen to AM radio to get inspired.” says Matthew. Whatever it takes mate…it’s worked.

The yellowed and worn looking cover has a pencil drawing of Matthew bearded with baseball hat and sly smile. He looks a bit like a young Mike Love to be honest but don’t let that put you off! (No offence Mike) I’ve played this CD a lot and it can only be my album of the month.
