A slightly neater, more focussed take of a recent album highlight, ‘Let’s Call It Off’ always sounded like the obvious follow-up to the omnipresent ‘Young Folks.’ It’s chilled-out, beat-group inspired Scando-pop at its’ best with a likeable undertow of indie danceability, groovy John Barry soundtrack guitars and a chorus that owns you after a couple of plays. Yes, it would be easy to dismiss it as ‘Young Folks’ part 2, but it’s got its’ own chilly atmosphere and comes with an excellent cult video featuring typewriters and apparent defection plots. Oh, and a distinct lack of whistling, too.
