Review: 'YORKE, THOM'
'ANALYSE'

-  Label: 'XL RECORDINGS (www.xlrecordings.com)'
-  Genre: 'Post-Rock' -  Release Date: '6th November 2006'

Our Rating:
Analyse, the latest offering from Thom Yorke is like much of his previous work in so far as being the antithesis of cheery, proven in Thom’s echoic repetition of the line “It gets you down.”

But again like most of his previous songs does have a certain charming quality to it.

The foundation of this track is the beautiful piano, but the song is given an extra dimension and an almost paranoid slant with the use of jittery and agitated computerised drum beats, the regular beating backdrop and the sound of the piano compliment each other perfectly, creating an almost ethereal feel to the song (a feel often found in Radiohead tracks).

Thom’s superior if slightly incomprehensible lyrics “A self-fulfilling prophecy of endless possibility/You roll in reams across the street/In algebra In algebra” add to what is already an impressive song.
