VIOLENT DELIGHT announced themselves with the debut single "Secret Smile" earler during 2002 and already have another new single mooted as your correspondent scribbles here.
Anyway, "The Same Old Story" is a fairly typical. energetic, emo-fuelled tale of youthful, er "going without" (Oh come on - do I have to spell it our for you? It's about lack of sausage insertion, for God's sake...) produced with the kind of diamond-hard (fnarr!) clarity you'd expect from Sex Pistols' guitarist Steve Jones. Quite a coup initself, getting one of our guitar heroes behind the production desk, so respect there.
Whatever, "The Same Old Story" hardly batters down any new barriers, but suffice it to say it's an agreeably noisy blast, capable of kicking over-rated tossers like Jimmy Eat World and Rival Schools into touch. B-side "Parental Guidance", meanwhile, raises the peurility stakes something shocking with a tender tale of, ahem, catching your parents shagging ("To catch your parents fucking is worse than drinking piss" they shriek), which is all so expletive-ridden you almost need Rentokil.

It's all a bit Jilted John, but against my better judgment, I (God Help me!) actually quite like this. I fear for my sanity.
