Review: 'ALEXISONFIRE'
'Drunks, Lovers, Sinners & Saints'

-  Label: 'Hassle(www.hasslerecords.com)'
-  Genre: 'Heavy Metal' -  Release Date: '14th May 2007'-  Catalogue No: 'HOFF 036'

Our Rating:

Screaming, speed-freakin emo rock n’ roll with James Brown style “Owwww” bits at the beginning/end of lines in the verses, that about sums this up. However, ‘Drunks, Lovers, Sinners & Saints’ somehow still exists on a plateau somewhere above the chaos ie. despite the intensity of the noise, it still doesn’t sound like Canadian band ALEXISONFIRE are moved in any way by the inane racket they’re creating.

As is expected of metal, the instruments are played with a fair bit of skill, but if this is post-hardcore, then to my ears, it’s sounding a little bit flat. Sorry.
