Review: 'IWASACUBSCOUT'
'Our Smallest Adventures'

-  Label: 'XL/Abeano'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'September 3rd 2007'-  Catalogue No: 'CD/7"/Download'

Our Rating:

A little more feeling and a bass-ier sound signify a deeper undercurrent in the creative output of indie contenders IWASACUBSCOUT

Not that these are still waters (or muddy). The dynamic duo rock out warped electronica that’s caught up amidst more confusion of the ‘strangely engaging’ variety. Starting off slowly, the pulse kicks in with sweet clarity, and the groove hereafter is positively hypnotic.

Building up to a splendid chorus, this is all about life getting all caught up in your arse, and the things you could be doing instead. Perhaps the things you used to do. Opportunistic snatches at temporary fixes leave you empty, but help to keep this record full to the brim with wistful sentiment.
