Review: 'OPERATOR PLEASE'
'IT'S JUST A SONG ABOUT PING PONG'

-  Label: 'BRILLE'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'September 17th 2007'

Our Rating:
The debut single by the young Australian punk-pop group Operator Please is a furious 2 minutes 21 seconds full of teenage energy and exuberance that will have your feet tapping and head spinning.

A perfect soundtrack for crazed parties and filling dance floors, “It’s Just A Song About Ping Pong” is enough to get anyone jumping around and singing like a madman, similar to that of Operator Please’s Amandah Wilkinson, who doesn’t stop her blistering, fantastic pace for the entire song.

With a musical style that echoes CSS and the Be Your Own PET, Operator Please are creating fresh, new music that hasn’t been explored before.

After forming to take part in their High School’s Battle Of The Bands competition simply to try and beat the ‘cool kids’, Operator Please have gone from strength to strength. They recently completed a whistle-stop tour of Australia, and are now embarking on a full UK tour on the back of playing the Reading/Leeds festivals.

A large UK fanbase is steadily growing for the Aussie band – shining through when they went straight in at number 1 within the Club NME Club Chart and immediately making Record of the Week on BBC 6Music.

(“Just A Song About Ping Pong” is now on general sale on Brille records, and Operator Please can be found playing many venues around the UK.)
