Our Rating:
Oh how wonderful it would have been for Arctic Monkeys to have been the over-hyped one trick ponies the musical cynic willed them to be. But it would seem that they can't put a foot wrong. They don't over-expose themselves or play up to any real image; it's the music that matters.

'Teddy Picker' is yet another great single – the modern references don't make you baulk, and the tune is distinctly different to any of their previous classics. That people are walking around with the words “Don't be surprised when you get bent over” in their heads is rather special is it not? This is a solid choice of a single; amusingly filthy and ridiculously catchy.

Lyrically, Pulp are written all over this single – there's something a little grim and depressing about it, but the imagery portrayed is very believable, and it's possible that most people can relate to it in some way. Not only that, but it's funny without being cheesy. It's very Arctic Monkeys, but that is what they're best at after all.

This is a band that show no sign of flagging, however glorious that would be.
