Does anyone remember The Hiss? An unremarkable indie-rock outfit from the early part of this decade – much hyped and swift to disappear. They were pretty unforgettable, to the point that no other band has reminded me of them since. Until now, it would seem.
'Ending of You' is fast paced indie song that you've heard done elsewhere with much better production. IMF sound, on this number, like a gloomy Franz Ferdinand, but just rougher around the edges. Whilst the playing is tight, it's not remarkable – and the vocal performance is somewhat haphazard. On future releases it definitely needs reining in. It's essentially an indie-rock song – standard song structure, affable enough tune. The same applies for the other track on this release, 'In The Meantime,' another song that has studied the genre and stuck to the rules – it's a whinier number that has little that stands out and generally seems rather unambitious.

This is still early days, of course, and it would be unfair to write them off. They need to sort out their sound a little, but they're clearly capable musicians – it's just at the moment it's distinctly average.
