Review: 'LOOK SEE PROOF'
'London, The Boiler Room, April 5th 2008'

-  Genre: 'Rock'

Our Rating:
You know the kind of music where you just can’t help but dance? At first you find yourself tapping your feet, then the head starts to move and then…depending on the amount of alcohol in your system or your level of inhibitions you find yourself dancing like a crazy person! (Hopefully people are identifying with this!!!)

Well this is the kind of reaction you can expect if you go and see Look See Proof…

The young 4 piece from Hertford have enjoyed reasonable success, playing Glastonbury last year, making it into the NME charts and touring with some pretty big names. Tonight they are headlining -playing to an eager crowd of Guildford’s ‘indie sindys’.

Launching straight into their set, the first track ‘You Don’t Get It’ sounds very much like something by The Futureheads, it is fast paced with steady drums keeping the music upbeat and loud.

Their hit single ‘Casualty’ kicks off with a delectable feast of oooh ooooh oooh ooooh ooohs, it whizzes into the chorus where singer Lee belts out ‘You’re going too fast, going too fast, going toooo fast’ I’m sure this is not supposed to be a comment on the song itself but it certainly could be, the pace is like Jeremy Clarkson being let loose in the newest Aston Martin. The speed doesn’t die as newest single ‘Do You Think It’s Right’ is played next. Another infectious offering, it opens with jangly guitar riffs soon interrupted with furious high speed drumming. The drumming only slows for a brief moment before everyone throws all their energy into the hectic chorus.

Like one of those automatic tennis ball machines the infectious tunes follow one after the other. The band are obviously enjoying themselves, there is banter between stage and floor and Lee can not stop commenting on the ‘vibes’ leaking out of every member of the crowd.

Look See Proof are undeniably likeable, the join-in choruses and catchy guitar riffs mixed with the dynamic-duo vocals from the Sells brothers create a perfect indie pop package. If you are looking for something out of this world and bizarrely creative then Look See Proof may not be the band for you, but if like me you are partial to the odd bit of indie pop goodness then check these guys out, they know what they are doing!
