Our Rating:
Ok, so a little late with this one and I'm not entirely sure how it came to be overlooked... but there you go. Such is life. That I didn't get around to this single for a while is, in many representative of my awareness of Peaches' output to date. I've read plenty about her, but haven't heard anything, as far as I can remember. But then, there's nothing like hype and hipness to put me off wanting to check an artists out.

So, after all this time with my head in the and, the time is right, and so I give the disc a spin, to find that... well, it's ok.

'I don't wanna lose you,' she breathes and pouts over a shimmering synth bumped along by a disco drum straight outta the eighties, with an Akai snare sound that cuts through the soft-tone bubbling bass. There's a sparseness to the sound that gives it a rather bleak, sterile edge, but in a way that's rather dark and intriguing in the way so many early to mid 80s electro tunes were. Original it ain't: cool, it most definitely is. Sadly, it's also slightly bland and forgettable and I'd have probably dug it more without the hype. As I said, such is life.
