'Scream Your Dream' piledrives in at 100mph and it's rocking hard then... what the hell's with all the cheesy brass? Where did that come from? Another burst of overdriven guitar is but a brief interlude before it goes Ska and the awful horns are back tooting all over the place. So this is Skacore. Three and a half minutes in and the energetic air-punching chants abate and it's a slowed-down reggae jam to the end - alas, more UB40 than Bob Marley.
The other two tracks, 'Monkey See Monkey Do' and 'Far from Here' blend the energy of punk with the ska brass flourishes to much better effect, the brass giving bounce to the overdriven guitar and the powerful, pounding percussion. Too fun to be altogether serious, too serious to be entirely fun, cross-genre collisions have to be well executed to gel, and Junk are just a little too clumsy in their delivery.
