Slightly jangly indie of the variety that draws on the jangly elements of 'classic' sixties pop and brings it into a contemporary setting is what Vanaprasta provide three tracks of on this, their debut EP.
The 'big, explosive, and loud' sound they promise isn't so much in evidence across the three tracks here, and nor is the experimentalism they claim to be a key element of their sound. Instead, they sound more like the Las, only 20 years late and from LA. Compact, tightly structured indie with a crisp pop edge: it's ok, but the songs really aren't all that special.
So there you have it. All I can give it is a big shrug, I'm afraid.
