Review: 'Notanumber'
'The Great Storm Upon Us'

-  Genre: 'Rock'

Our Rating:
There's nothing subtle about this - and quite right too. Heads-down screaming metal, propelled by double-pedalled bass drumming, with everything louder than everything else. Yeah, they want to be Metallica. This may, at least in part, explain the driving, throat-wrenching thrash of the verses which contrast with the oh-so-melodic choruses, which are big and girly enough to sing along to. So, burning rage for the disaffected kids, but tuneful choruses to appease the parents - if I'm being cynical.

Yes, for all the anger burning in their entrails, Notanumber are nice guys really (although I won't go quite to far as to suggest they're a bunch of pussies... at least not to their faces). Not terrible, but uber-cliche.
