Our Rating:
We bumped into PLEASE about 18 months ago on a Stench of Muscle compilation. "The Shame" was PLEASE's contribution to that collection, and here it is on a handsome 10" vinyl EP with "Sutton Hoo" and "Arpington Orpan", all recorded by the illustrious John Hannon at his No Studio in Essex.

All three tracks are blustering furies that race through their time on earth as if there was not a lot left. Keeby, who batters the drums with ferocious delight, does service with other noisemongers like CLECKHUDDERSFAX and POLTERGROOM - the lineage is strong and the general approach will be what you should expect from that, even if those bands are not already in your "oh, yeh!" lists.

Certainly noisy, probably destined for niche appreciation, but exactly the sort of excitable mayhem that should be causing trembles in the bowels of all urban regions, PLEASE are having a go at doing guitar rock and roll for people who long ago grew tired of guitar rock and roll, but who still yearn for that visceral thrill of being out of control and hammering down that highway to oblivion to a suitable soundtrack. Michael and Rowland's bass rumbling and guitar jabbering on this EP should keep such people more than happy.
