Review: 'ADMIRAL ANGRY'
'A Fire To Burn Down The World'

-  Label: 'shelsmusic'
-  Genre: 'Heavy Metal' -  Release Date: 'June 2010'

Our Rating:
Soon after releasing their brutal and brilliant debut album "Buster" in 2009, Admiral Angry were hit by tragedy when guitarist and visionary Daniel Kraus lost his long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. However, with Kraus having already prepared the embryonic stages of this EP along with the artwork, Admiral Angry pressed on to ensure the work was completed - and we should be thankful they did.

This begins with the sound of distant cymbals which begin to slowly build, before the agonised screams/vocals start to fade in. This slowly gets louder until after about two minutes the evil, doomy guitar riff hits you. What follows are twenty heavy, dark, anguished and angry minutes of music which actually leave the listener feeling drained by the end.

It is not totally one-paced though, as after fifteen minutes things go quiet. Too quiet. The last five minutes soundtrack the end of the earth, before three minutes of white noise and distorted guitar bring things to a close.

This is angry. Very angry. It is also good. Very good. A fitting tribute to Daniel Kraus, and a credit to the other members of Admiral Angry, who chose to carry on.
