Review: 'STRANGE DEATH OF LIBERAL ENGLAND, THE'
'RISING SEA'

-  Label: 'Republic of Music'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'August 23rd 2010'

Our Rating:
An album is imminent and this heart-stirring single is a taste of things to come. It has a big eight note anthem of a chorus, that audiences can howl along to with a happy heart and melodious intent. Harmonies even. A tolling bell and a trumpet and lots of strong guitar chords haul it along like a great rolling vessel of state.

The mournful lyric compresses national and personal anxiety into difficult moments of bad weather and personal stress, but lets it all roar out at the end of each verse with eh lung-clearing chorus.

The B side "Winter" is a lesser thing, but interesting for all that.

Live dates in London (4th) and Southsea (18th) during August are lined up in support of the release. I would say it will be worth attending just for the chance to join in on that chorus.

THE STRANGE DEATH OF LIBERAL ENGLAND are:

Adam Woolway
Andrew E. Wright
Kelly Jones
Will Charlton
