Review: 'STUPIDITY/ VIVA LAS VEGAS/ WITCHDOKTORS, THE'
'London, 12 Bar Club, 8th October 2010'

-  Genre: 'Rock'

Our Rating:
Straight after the incredible Richard Lloyd show at the Borderline, I walked across Charing Cross road and down
Denmark street to the 12 bar club to see my old friends from Sweden, Stupidity, playing. I got in while the Witchdokters were playing a very cool punked up version of The going up is worth the coming down. They played some really good Essex delta style punk and were a lot of fun.

I then went and had a chat with Erniz and Tommy from Stupidity who are always cool to chat to. Next on were Viva Las Vegas who are a psychobilly Elvis band whose line up I know I have seen playing with loads of other bands over the years, I'm just not sure which ones!! Still, they did a good set of raggedly scuzzy rock & roll highlights included Love me Tender and Houndog. Good fun. I'd love to know what other bands this lot have played in over the years.

I the missed the next band on The Outbursts as I was introduced to Richard Lloyd's drummer JP Thunderbolt Patterson by Tommy Boy from Stupidity and had a long chat with him and the Bass player from Richard Lloyd's band and got tales of them hanging out with the Ramones and playing in the Dictators or having Iggy as a guest on your TV show. They were certainly happy to hang out in the 12 Bar's alley with me!

Then it was back inside for Stupidity to give us some prime time Swedish Garage rock. As ever they were all dressed in their trademark black and Red outfits and mixed stuff from both of their albums. I really enjoyed City Boy with some great dirty
guitar from PA and Miss Anna's flying V bass was rock solid throughout. Set Me Free is yet another great tune with that name. As ever Last Night is one of the highlights of their show and as Erniz vocals get ever more demented, the band keep up with him as he couldn't sleep last night. I'm sure that he couldn't as he is certainly being haunted. Girl Named Moe rocked hard with some very crisp drumming from Tommy Boy.

I can't remember what tune they finished with but it did have a guest appearence on tambourine from JP Thunderbolt Patterson who
sat at the front of the stage. They closed the night with their as ever great version of The Standells' Sometimes good guys don't wear white and they rounded up the singer from The Outbursts to help out. It was a great end to a pretty seismic night out all round.
