Although released back in the summer, I didn't receive my promo for this until the end of November, but I'm assuming this split single from Comets side-project Colossal Yes and Arkansas-based The Good Fear is still available.
There was something appealing, vaguely amusing to me about the name Colossal Yes. There's something similarly appealing about their track on here, 'Backbiter Blues.' It's a little ramshackle, laid back and rough round the edges, both in terms of performance and production, but there's a warm and humanity about it that's undeniable.
The same is true of the rolling, strolling sound of The Good Fear's 'Be Like Us,' a song that kicks its way through blues-based 70s rock with absolute conviction to good effect.
