This is the first physical release from melody-conscious Hertfordshire heavy rockers THOUSAND AUTUMNS, whose rather clean-cut take on the heavy-duty rock sound is based on clarity and a bit more of a 'tune' than you'd expect from this end of the spectrum's 'norm'.
Have no fear: the fledgling five certainly haven't dispensed with the necssary ingredients, such as throat-scraping guttural vocal insanity gain-heavy guitar surges, and thumping percussion - the four tracks on this EP all adhere to the same relentlessly fast and frenetic tempo so loved by Kerranng-reading rock fans and emo/screamo devotees alike.
This is a musical direction given over to constant frequently unselfconscious displays of extreme vitriol, so yes, if you have youthful energy to burn, it will come in handy. However, to shine at this end of the scale also requires incredible levels of skill and ability from the band members, and there's no doubt that Josh Fox and co. have the necessary talent in spades - albeit utilised in a rather predictable manner.

'City Of Sun' ploughs headlong into a tidal wave of FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND comparisons, and rightly so, as they're unavoidable. At least three of the four songs could be described as finely crafted, though none are what you might call innovative.
