The crash and burn new wave sound of side A preaches speak-yer-mind self-destruction against a highly dramatic and all consuming backdrop of reverberating guitar-based noise, whilst the reverse side ('Introverts'?) goes hell-for-leather at breakneck speed and, if anything, seems the likelier of the two tunes to end up in charred ruins, having first gone down in that proverbial blaze of glory.
Difficult to pigeonhole (always a plus!), characterised by repetition and blessed with insistent, persitent vocal urgency, both sides of this debut single speak volumes for much lauded rookies FROM A CITY IN RUINS.
And the city in question? None other than Grimsby, Lincs., the very same town that gave us the mercurial Council Pop pioneers ORPHAN BOY. Watch this space.
