Review: 'Ideals'
'Significant Other'

-  Label: 'Intruder Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '28th February 2011'

Our Rating:
The press release informs us that Pete Doherty and The Automatic are fans of Ideals. This doesn't cut any ice with me. The rest of the press release is devoted to pushing the idea that Ideals main man Andrew Major is a difficult individual. Well, I can identify, but again, this doesn't really sell his music.

The references to 'Marque Moon' and 'Transformer' are a little deceptive: 'Significant Other' is more of a popped-up, indified Joy Division. So a bit like Editors, basically. Only less grandiose, and not quite as good. It's not bad as such. Just not all that special.
