Porch Song Anthology are a Glasgow-based Irish/Scots four-piece who deal in gentle, heartfelt acoustic contemporary folk music. Three of their number are formerly of Telstar Ponies, and on one hand it might seem like a radical shift in trajectory, if one listens to a track like ‘Farewell, Farewell’, it’s perhaps apparent where Porch Song Anthology’s roots lie.
The three tracks here are pleasant, breezy with a tinge of melancholy, and delivered efficiently and sincerely, but it’s highly unlikely that this EP, or band, will really change anyone’s life.
