Review: 'ARCTIC MONKEYS'
'SUCK IT AND SEE (7" and download)'

-  Label: 'DOMINO'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '31st October 2011'

Our Rating:
‘Suck It And See’ is the ARCTIC MONKEYS third single release from their recent album of the same title. It is an extremely infectious slice of indie guitar pop which will, I am sure do extremely well in the charts. Alex Turner’s lyrics are as usual, thought provoking and slightly surreal: - “I poured my aching heart into a pop song/ I couldn’t get the hang of poetry/ That’s not a skirt, girl, that’s a sawn-off shotgun/ And I can only hope you’ve got it aimed at me.”

The single is released on 31st October 2011 to coincide with the band’s UK tour. The b side of the single will be a non-album track entitled ‘Evil Twin’, but unfortunately that was not included on the promo for review.

‘Suck It And See’ is the sort of track that will appeal to fans and non-fans straight away and will also cause more than a few people who don’t already know the band to explore their back catalogue. A hit methinks!
