NLL BRYDEN'S first offering from her sophomore record concerns the end of a relationship. Coping with the loss, Bryden claims her ex appears to her in dreams where she feels as if she’s floating above (wait for it….) “buildings and tree tops."
If that revelation didn’t surprise you, neither will the fact that Bryden is supporting Chris Rea on his latest tour and that this offering is a harmless piece of radio friendly, toe-tapping country rock. It chugs along with percussive acoustic guitars and Bryden’s caramel vocals practically melt in the ears, yet the song never soars to the heights the chorus implies.

Despite the building tension, the attempted cathartic release feels as frustrating as trying to push a tar elephant up a hill. It’s all as huggable as highland cattle, and there’s a fantastic moment where the layers of chiming electric guitars begin to shimmer like a waterfall towards the end but the overall feeling this gives is one of frustration. It’s quite nice though.
