Review: 'Fast Years'
'Women EP'

-  Genre: 'Punk/New Wave' -  Release Date: '2nd June 2012'

Our Rating:
Pros: 1) Fast Years are from Brooklin, NY and are into 80s punk, surf pop and indie garage.

2) Their debut EP takes its title from the book of the same name by Charles Bukowski. Bukowski is cool. Yes, ‘Women’ is one of the filthiest books I’ve ever read – a friend of mine cursed me for lending it to him, and after a few days of repeatedly reading page upon page of depravity - ‘I rolled over wiped myself down’ is a phrase he still winces over fifteen years later. While they reckon their lyrics are nowhere near as gut-churning, that they dig Buk enough to reference him definitely earns them cred points.

3) 6 tracks in 16 minutes. They don’t believe in stretching songs out needlessly and areall about the punch.

Cons: They’re basically a third-rate Ramones tribute.
