It's been a while since Billie Myers was in the spotlight, hitting the big time a few years ago with massively selling single 'Kiss The Rain'. Since then Myers has been through some difficult personal times and transformed somewhat as a performer. New album Tea And Sympathy is a great return to form.
10 tracks of soft-rock laced pop, this is an album that washes over you in a wave of good quallity production and decently written songs. It's typified by some surprisingly dark content, summed up by the atmospheric, mid-tempo 'Anonymous', arguably the top track of the whole release. It's a dramatic statement, nestled in amongst some really sophisticated writing all around, created from a collection of minor chords, rolling chord progressions and synth sounds.

It's not all doom and gloom though, Myers knows how to be upbeat too. Lead single 'Wonderful' (released on the same day) is an ode to the naive nature of new love, with an airy vocal and major acoustic chords.
All in all then, this is a success, with no real mis-steps to report. Welcome back Billie!
