Review: 'CHIN OF BRITAIN'
'Nothing Changes/So Good To Be Here Again (single)'

-  Label: 'Waltztime'
-  Genre: 'Post-Rock' -  Release Date: '25th March 2013'-  Catalogue No: 'WT006 (download-only)'

Our Rating:
This digital-only single release precedes the forthcoming self-titled debut album from cosmic outfit CHIN OF BRITAIN.

Delightfully, both 'sides' of the single feature a track from said album, so there are no promotional loose ends here, oh no.

Heads and harmonies are sprawled all over the organ's keys during the voyager-friendly psychedelic shunt of A-side 'Nothing Changes', before the lo-fi 4/4 chorus catches hold on the blind side.

Atonal sparks fly off the middle eight as the whole thing screams 'DESTINY' amidst a scrawl of slightly delayed/super-cosmic guitar licks.

'Arrival' track 'So Good To Be Here Again' is slowed down and spaced out towards the Barrett-like outer-edges, although there's a guitar/organ flourish bang in the middle that will never ever fail to resurrect The Pretenders' 'I Go To Sleep' in the minds and ears of senior citizens like me.

Arf, CHINS OF BRITAIN have showcased their space-cadet credentials, whilst simultaneously (at least in terms of Side A) having achieved a certain degree of radio-friendliness, bless 'em. Nowt wrong with that, not at all.
